The challange
A complex assortment with a sea of variants was the breeding ground for inefficient workflows, a lack of structure and an overview at Damstahl, who wanted to digitize their business further.
Challenges such as "Who has the latest data?" and "When are they finished creating the products?" highlighted classic challenges in successful companies that are affected by insufficient technological support for internal processes.
Among other things, Damstahl needed a webshop that could relieve the salespeople, so there was more time to focus on key accounts. At the same time, it was a requirement that the shop should be able to show live prices to users, so that Damstahl could always sell at market price.
The solution: Perfion, DataConnector, print publishing
Damstahl chose to implement Perfion's PIM system to handle product data to ensure centralization of product data, reduce time-to-market, and streamline their workflows and catalog production.
Today, Perfion feeds Damstahl's CMS with both the web structure and all product-related data via the DataConnector.
This allows Damstahl to manage the category structure and quickly distribute products in the right "boxes" on the web. From Damstahl's ERP, stock status and live-generated prices are shared, which are updated at check-out.
In Perfion, Damstahl also creates their catalogues, so it is now possible to service salespeople, internal employees and not least customers with current product data sheets.
In addition, Damstahl was able to use Perfion for "data cleaning" at the latest ERP upgrade, which resulted in them halving the budget for this.
The result
With PIM as the driving force and a modern website, Damstahl has succeeded in exhibiting their wide product range, which is in line with what they also communicate to the market.
It is now easy and convenient for customers to find exactly what they need. And if they need a special order, help is only a phone call away. All of this has helped to ensure that Damstahl today has a profitable shop that not only generates sales, but also frees up time for other important tasks
